Dr. Romain Rivaux is a French native. He has a decade of experience in the translation field, having served as Director of Linguistics at ProTranslating, a translation firm located in Miami, Florida. In 2012, he earned a Ph.D. in Anglophone Studies from University François-Rabelais, Tours, France. While his dissertation dealt with the literary, linguistic, and intertextual analysis of the early prose of James Joyce, his recent research has been primarily focused on translation studies through the lenses of linguistic and literary comparatism. He teaches a wide variety of courses at ×î´ó×ÊÔ´²É¼¯Íø, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels: Historical Linguistics, Sociolinguistics; Existentialism and Humanism; Translation and Localization; Structure of Modern French; Structure of Modern English; Patterns of Language; French Literature and Civilization; Research and Bibliographic Methods; Introduction to Linguistics; Introduction to French Literature; Global Perspectives on Language; and both beginning and intermediate levels of the lower-division French language and culture sequence.Ìý
