FAU Nursing Named Lead Academic Affiliate in Caring Science

Lynn College of Nursing as its Lead Caring Science Academic Affiliate, recognizing the college鈥檚 four-decade legacy and global leadership in advancing caring science in nursing education, practice, research and theory. Home to renowned nursing theorists and the Archives of Caring in Nursing, the college has long grounded its work in human caring, ethical ideals, and holistic knowing, positioning it as a global beacon for the profession.
This partnership reflects a shared vision to elevate caring science worldwide through collaborative education, scholarship, and global engagement. Planned initiatives include continuing education offerings, national and international events, expanded faculty and student involvement, and the advancement of caring science scholarship 鈥撀爏trengthening its role as a unifying framework for the future of nursing.

Lynn College of Nursing has been officially designated a Lead Caring Science Academic Affiliate by the Watson Caring Science Institute (WCSI), for its distinguished legacy and global leadership in advancing caring science within nursing education, practice research and theory development.
The WCSI is an international nonprofit founded by Jean Watson, Ph.D., AHN-BC, FAAN, LL (AAN), WCSI founder and director, which is dedicated to advancing human caring through education, research and global partnerships. WCSI supports health care organizations in building cultures rooted in compassion, dignity and authentic human connection.

Lynn College of Nursing,鈥 said Cameron Duncan, Ph.D., DNP, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC, CNE, FAANP, Holli Rockwell Trubinsky Eminent Dean of the Christine E. This historic designation affirms the longstanding contributions of FAU鈥檚 College of Nursing鈥檚 faculty, scholars and leaders who have spent more than four decades grounding education and practice in human caring, ethical ideals and holistic knowing. As the academic home to several grand and middle-range theorists and the Archives of Caring in Nursing, FAU鈥檚 Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing stands uniquely positioned to uplift caring science as the foundation of professional nursing worldwide.

Through this new affiliation, WCSI and FAU鈥檚 College of Nursing will collaborate on a range of initiatives to elevate caring science education across academic, clinical and global settings.

- Collaborative national and international events, including conferences, webinars, podcasts and scholarly exchanges.
