Signature Facilities: The Laboratory Backbone
KoKo High-Performance Computing Cluster听(FAU Jupiter听Campus)听
A large-scale听parallel computing environment serv-ing听as the classical backbone for听hybrid quantum-classical workflows. The cluster听provides 7,120 cores听and 87 GPU accelerators (NVIDIA V100, A100, P100, and K80), enabling large-scale听molecu-lar听simulations, fragment library generation, crypto-graphic benchmarking, and machine learning tasks that seed quantum computations. A high-speed 10 Gb/s fiber-optic link between the Boca听Raton and Jupiter听campuses enables efficient听remote access and data transfer.
D-Wave Leap Quantum Cloud Access听
The College has an active integration with D-Wave's Leap cloud service, providing faculty and students access to D-Wave's 5,000+ qubit Advantage quan-tum annealing system. This cloud platform under-pins multiple ongoing and near-term research pro-jects across biological sciences, chemistry and biochemistry, mathematics and statistics, physics, psychology, and urban planning, and is being incorporated into coursework across departments.

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry听maintains听the TAPERSS C++ codebase鈥攁听ready-to-integrate baseline for听hybrid quantum-classical molecular听folding workflows鈥攁long with classical HPC infrastructure used to generate ground-truth data and discrete-path-sampling fragment libraries听required听to seed quantum annealing simulations.
Urban Planning Data Center听
The Department of Urban听and听Regional Planning听operates听a dedicated data center听with file, application, web, and backup servers, NVIDIA GPU licensing, VDI infrastructure, UPS power听management, and high-bandwidth networking up to 25 Gb/s. The department听is actively exploring D-Wave Leap integration听for听transportation optimization, urban design, and disaster听response applications.
